PRACTICAL GUIDES · LITTLE HELPING HAND

Wardrobes that work for your everyday clothes

Start with what you need to find

Choose the difficulty you want to solve: clothes hidden behind other clothes, a drawer that will not close, or everyday outfits spread across rooms. Start with the section you use most rather than emptying everything at once.

Work through a manageable group

Try one rail section or one drawer. Separate clothes you use now, items needing a repair or wash, and things you are unsure about. There is no rule requiring you to get rid of a certain number of items. Clothes can carry memories; leave room for those decisions.

Put everyday clothes within comfortable reach

Group items in a way that makes sense to you: by use, type or outfit. Keep the items you reach for most in an accessible place. Fold to suit the depth of your drawers rather than a photograph of someone else’s system. Avoid overfilling rails and do not climb to reach storage.

Give occasional items a deliberate home

If you want to store seasonal clothes separately, label the container so you can find them again. Keep only what you can store safely. Check the clothing care instructions and make sure items are clean and dry before storing them.

Test the arrangement before buying

Use the wardrobes for a few days. Notice where putting things away still feels awkward. Reuse a divider or box you already have, measure first, and buy only if it solves a specific problem. A system should work when you are busy as well as when everything is freshly folded.

A seasonal swap for your wardrobes

As the seasons change, bring the clothes you’ll use into easy reach. Check what still fits and is worn, and store the rest labelled and together. If you’d like a hand, a 2-hour Keep It Sorted visit (£60) is for returning clients, or start with Fresh Start (£105, 3 hours).

Planning a session to organise wardrobes with Carla

Describe the wardrobes or drawers, your main difficulty and any decisions you want to make yourself. We can sort and organise within an agreed session. The volume and decisions affect how much fits into the time; the number of wardrobes completed depends on the agreed scope.
