PRACTICAL GUIDES · SEASONAL HELP

A little more room for Christmas

You do not have to reorganise your whole home to make Christmas easier. Start with the spaces you will actually use: somewhere for coats, a clear place to prepare food and room for the decorations you enjoy.

Choose one useful space

Work through a small section of a cupboard or a surface that collects things. Put everyday belongings back where you can reach them. Keep walkways and doors clear, and ask other household members before moving their things.

Bring out only what you want to use

Look through one decoration box at a time. Keep treasured pieces together and set undecided items aside. Reuse the storage you have before buying more. Keep packaging that will protect fragile decorations when they go away again.

Plan an easy pack-away

Label boxes by room or by what goes up together. Take a photograph of your own arrangement if it will help next year. Store items within safe reach; leave heavy or high storage to someone suitably equipped.

Would you like a hand indoors?

I can help sort the spaces you choose and put up indoor decorations within comfortable reach. We agree the work, time and price beforehand. Decorations and any materials are supplied by you or separately agreed. Ladder work, outdoor decorations and electrical installation are excluded.

Travel is included across Bridgend, Porthcawl, Cowbridge, Cardiff, Penarth, Barry and surrounding areas. A few days’ notice may be possible where my diary allows; please ask about your preferred date.

Carry one useful change into January

When decorations come down, keep the area that made the biggest difference easy to use. A small reset of wardrobes or kitchen cupboards can be a practical starting point.
